About
About the AJESI
A peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal published by the African Skills and Innovation Network (ASIN).
The African Journal of Education, Skills and Innovation (AJESI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal dedicated to advancing critical research, policy dialogue, and innovation at the intersection of education, skills development, and innovation systems in Africa and the Global South. The journal provides a platform for academics, practitioners, and policy actors to engage with emerging issues shaping human capital development, institutional reform, and socio-technical transformation in developing contexts.
AJESI responds to the urgent need for rigorous, context-sensitive scholarship that addresses the continent's development priorities — especially those linked to youth employability, higher education reform, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and the future of work. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary contributions from education, social sciences, STEM, economics, public policy, development studies, and related fields. We particularly encourage submissions that explore African perspectives, policy innovations, and ground-level realities.
AJESI is committed to knowledge equity and research excellence. We operate a double-blind peer review process, ensuring scholarly rigour, and publish accepted manuscripts on a rolling basis to promote rapid dissemination of ideas. The journal is hosted and published by the African Skills and Innovation Network (ASIN) and aims to serve as a knowledge hub for researchers, educators, innovators, and policymakers.
