Open access & APCs

AJESI is a Diamond Open Access journal. There are no submission fees and no article processing charges (APCs) for authors or readers. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright in their work and grant AJESI the right of first publication. Articles may be freely shared, adapted, and reused with appropriate attribution.

Peer review

AJESI uses a double-blind peer review process with at least two independent reviewers per manuscript. Average time to first decision is approximately 8 weeks. See Peer review for the full workflow.

Publication model

AJESI follows a continuous publication model — accepted articles are published online individually upon copyediting and typesetting, and later compiled into thematic issues. Each article is assigned a DOI.

Archiving

Published content is archived for long-term preservation. Authors are encouraged to deposit accepted manuscripts in subject-area or institutional repositories.

Data availability

Authors are encouraged to make supporting data openly available in a recognised repository and to include a data availability statement in the manuscript.

AI usage

Authors must disclose any use of AI tools in manuscript development, specifying the tools used and their purpose. AI cannot be listed as an author. AJESI also uses AI assistance in editorial screening and reviewer support — see Peer review — but every editorial decision is made by a human editor.

Corrections and retractions

Errors brought to our attention are corrected via a published correction notice. Articles are retracted in cases of substantiated misconduct or critical errors that invalidate the findings, following COPE guidance.

Privacy

Personal information collected through this site is used solely for the stated editorial purposes and is not shared with third parties.
