About Kelechi Ekuma
Dr Kelechi Ekuma is Editor-in-Chief of the African Journal of Education, Skills and Innovation (AJESI) and a scholar at the Global Development Institute, The University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He is an internationally recognised development and policy expert whose research bridges skills development, higher education reform, human resource development and institutional change.
His scholarship examines how power, politics, digital transformation and organisational dynamics shape learning, work and development outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa and other developing contexts. He works across Nigeria, the wider African continent, the United Kingdom and North America, collaborating with universities, governments, development agencies and industry partners on questions of employability, public-sector capability and the future of work.
As Editor-in-Chief of AJESI, he leads the journal's double-blind peer review process and its diamond open-access mission — publishing rigorous, context-sensitive research at no cost to authors or readers, and building a knowledge hub for researchers, educators, innovators and policymakers concerned with Africa's development priorities.
